Update July 2019

The Irish Workhouse Museum is officially open and visitors have really enjoyed being able to view our collection of artefacts. The most popular item so far has been a last second acquisition of a model of Enniscorthy workhouse made out of 82,000 matchsticks.

The other exciting development has been a permanent exhibition devoted to Polish nobleman Paul Strzelecki. This is a FREE  exhibition and is a wonderful chance to discover a forgotten hero of the Irish Famine.

Update September 2018

Our Museum Day for Heritage Week went very well and we are all pleasantly surprised at the amount of interest people had in the museum plans. The new glass cases have been delivered and are awaiting assembly. We are also gearing up in our search for workhouse artefacts. Can't wait for the winter months now, as we will really be able to get to grips with setting up the museum space for next year!

Update August 2018

We are all very excited about the packed programme for Heritage Week this Year (18-26th August) which will include the opening of our first museum display which is very appropriately all about work. Check out HeritageWeek.ie for more details!
